The Commissioners for the Fire Protection for Blandford (District 1) hosted an appreciation dinner at the Blandford Community Center on May 4, 2019 to express their gratitude to the volunteer firefighters and medical first responders of Blandford Fire Rescue for their hard work and dedication to the safety of their community. Our volunteer first responders are on call for you all year long, every day and night, responding to emergencies with no remuneration and little recognition.

Lloyd was presented with special certificates of appreciation and his 50 year medals from the Blandford Fire Rescue, Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments and the Office of the Nova Scotia Fire Marshal. Congratulations and sincere appreciation of his many years of dedication to his community were expressed by all in attendance.
